CAUTION:
If you are using Rec-Rac clamps as general purpose tie-downs, the clamps are strongest when used close to the front or back of truck bed as they depend on the strength of the sheet metal of the truck rail. The tie-down clamps are designed for light-duty loads and are not designed for heavy loads (like a full-size motorcycle or refrigerator). For heavy loads, use factory tie-down rings which attach to the truck frame.
